Medical Assist / Rescue From The Mountain

State Game Lands #110, Bethel Township

At 4:02 PM, Company #54 and #27 were dispatched for a medical assist for a male subject with a medical problem on the Blue Mountain in Bethel Township.  The call ended up being on the PA State Game Lands #110.  Car #27 (QRS) and Rescue #27 responded as well as several of our members with their 4WD trucks. 

Crews accessed the area off of Route #183 and proceeded approximately 1 mile up the mountain access road, where Rescue #27 established a staging area.  Car #27 and 27-10 (Feick) continued approximately 1-1.5 mile further where crews then hiked off of a side trail approximately 3/4 mile.  Crews made contact with the patient and began medical care.  The patient was packaged in a stokes basket and was then hiked out. 

The patient was transferred to a 4WD pickup and brought down to the staging area at Rescue #27, where Bethel Ambulance BLS and Schuylkill Valley ALS were staged as well.  The patient was transferred to Bethel and Schuylkill Valley at 5:21 PM.

Crews returned to station at approximately 6:00 PM.
